Elements of Art Mixtape — Deep House Music by uLinda

Born and raised in Johannesburg, Linda Sibeko, better known as uLinda, is a DJ, curator and lifelong student of music whose relationship with sound has evolved over more than two decades.

For uLinda, music has never been simply about entertainment. It has always been a way of experiencing life — a language without boundaries, a source of emotion, discovery and connection. From an early age, he developed a natural curiosity for different musical styles and the stories they carried. As the house music movement began to make a lasting impression on him in the late 1990s, that curiosity developed into a deeper fascination with the art of DJing.

In 2001, while still in high school, uLinda began taking his first serious steps behind the decks. At the same time, he started building his vinyl collection, developing an appreciation for the physical connection between the DJ, the record and the music. Digging for music, discovering records and understanding how different sounds could work together became an important part of his development.

Over the years, that foundation evolved into a musical identity defined by depth, soul, atmosphere and progression. Rather than being confined to a single sound, uLinda approaches music as a constantly evolving landscape. His selections move through Deep House, Soulful House and Alternative sounds, often bringing together records from different eras, artists and influences to create a journey that feels both familiar and unexpected.

For him, a DJ set is not simply a collection of tracks. It is a conversation — about understanding the room, recognising the moment and knowing when a particular sound belongs in the story. A subtle groove can change the atmosphere. A vocal can bring back a memory. A carefully placed record can introduce someone to an artist they may never have discovered otherwise.

The desire to explore music beyond the traditional DJ environment eventually led to the creation of Elements Of Art Mixtape. EOA was born from a simple but powerful idea: music deserves to be experienced as art. Each mixtape is carefully curated as its own experience — not merely a playlist, but a passage through different moods, textures, rhythms and emotions.

With more than 20 years behind the decks, uLinda's journey continues to evolve. Today, his work exists across DJing, musical curation and the continued development of Elements Of Art Mixtape — a growing platform built around his passion for discovering and sharing music. From the early days of collecting vinyl to creating carefully curated digital experiences, the technology may have changed, but the fundamental idea remains the same: music, curated as art.
